Kraków for Everyone

The accessibility of KFO and the events we organise for all target groups is very important to us. Krakow for All is not only KFO’s brand related to the accessibility of events for recipients with disabilities – it also involves year-round educational activities: accessible artistic, literary and musical workshops as part of our festival projects, as well as ‘Discover Krakow’ city walks. What counts here above all, is the concern for the emotions of recipients, safety and sensory-friendly conditions. It is, therefore, important to maintain the constancy and periodicity of events and to keep in touch with carers and teachers of pupils with special educational needs.

Children and young people are also welcome to attend workshops introducing aspects of disability. We know very little about disability, not least because we usually try to not think about it if it does not affect us in some way. And yet, after all, good intentions and a little knowledge are enough. We believe that it is important to raise awareness of the needs of others from an early age, and we want to provide recipients of our workshops with some knowledge about how to approach people with different disabilities and tips: what to say, how to help, and how to offer support. We want to show our audiences, including children, how important it is to be open to the needs of all culture recipients. This is why we organise workshops such as: ‘See with Touch’ about visual impairment, ‘#trytounderstand’ about the basics of savoir-vivre towards people with disabilities, and specialised workshops on creating audio description, sign language translation for films, and insight into the poetry and culture of the deaf.

Workshops are organised for schools and groups from special institutions. Entrance is free of charge.

We get in touch with individual institutions, and registration and contact with Elżbieta Błońska is encouraged – email: elzbieta.blonska@kbf.krakow.pl phone/text message: 692 404 014.

Krakow for Everyone also has a social media profile. Why Krakow? Because we are in Krakow and our city remains at the centre of our interest. And why for Everyone? We simply want everyone to be able to benefit from culture, regardless of their disability, age or temporary indisposition. We show the real meaning and various aspects of #accessibility. We provide disability-related information and advice on how to behave towards people with disabilities. We teach sign vocabulary, present various #viewpoints and recommend inclusive events in Krakow that are also accessible to recipients with disabilities. Check out the page on Facebook.
