The world is changing every day, and we want to be ready for what’s coming and to be closer to people and to changes – those we’re experiencing right now and those which are still ahead of us. We want culture to create new narratives exploring our adaptations to these changes.
That’s why the Kraków Festival Office (KBF) is creating the Trends Observatory for Culture – an interdisciplinary unit conducting research, artistic, educational and social activities.
We monitor and study behaviours, preferences and lifestyles of creators, producers and recipients of culture and how they are affected by factors such as technological innovations and cultural, demographic and social changes. We will use this information to prepare scenarios and recommendations for the future which will help us readily adapt to changing demands and conditions.
Trends Observatory for Culture, supporting the activities of the Cultural Department of the Kraków City Office and cultural circles in general, was founded late last year by Carolina Pietyra, KBF’s Director.
