Krakow Film Festival

As well as being home to Poland’s oldest university and botanical gardens, Kraków can also boast one of the world’s first festivals of documentaries, animations and short films, founded in 1961! Films vie for titles in four competitions of equal weight: one Polish, and three international, focusing on short films, documentaries, and music documentaries DocFilmMusic.

During eight festival days, audiences can choose from around 250 films from Poland and abroad, presented at competition sections and specials screenings. Events also include exhibitions, concerts, outdoor screenings and meetings with artists. The popular event attracts hundreds of directors, producers and festival programmers from Poland and abroad.

In 2020, KFF was one of the first major film festivals held entirely online. The KBF is a partner of the event, organised by the Kraków Film Foundation.
