Children’s Literature Festival

Beloved by kids and parents alike, Kraków hosts the largest Children’s Literature Festival in Europe. The event raises generations of young readers and inspires them to reach for important, classic texts as well as fun, entertaining ones. Each year, the organisers prepare workshops, meetings with authors and illustrators, exhibitions and urban games.

Meetings explore important topics found in children’s books, such as divorce, tolerance and human rights. The festival also features a competition for best children’s book published in the preceding year. Jury starts its deliberations in early spring, and during the gala finale of the Children’s Literature Festival in Kraków they reveal the title of Book of the Year! The prize is funded by festival partner KBF, and the entire event is organised by the Burza Mózgów Foundation.
