Launched in 2019, the four-year project Connecting Emerging Literary Artists (CELA) is aimed at up-and-coming authors and translators from several countries in Europe, and features meetings with writers, educational courses, consultations with mentors and presentations to agents and publishers at international literary festivals. It was initiated by the Dutch literary production house Wintertuin, with Poland represented by the KBF, operator of the UNESCO City of Literature programme, which selected Polish authors and translators to take in the programme. The project culminates with a publication of texts written by participating authors, translated into all CELA languages and presented to international audiences.
