Become a Visitor in Your Own City. Explore Kraków!

The coronavirus pandemic which started spreading around the globe in late winter 2020 has had a major impact on Kraków’s tourist sector: the city emptied almost overnight, while the almost 20% of Cracovians who work in the hospitality industry were suddenly faced with unemployment. The absence of tourists, imposed social isolation and strict hygiene restrictions had a particularly strong impact on gastronomy, guided tours and cultural institutions.

As well as providing direct support, the City of Kraków worked to minimise the crisis by launching the social information campaign encouraging residents to take a fresh look at their city and discover it anew, and to visit tourist attractions and services.

Implemented by the KBF, the campaign is joined by companies and private individuals; it includes dozens of thematic walks (including guided tours) and it has been widely shared on social media.
