The only event of its kind not just in Poland but all over the globe: sausage dogs and their owners flock to Kraków from Japan, France, Germany, the US, South Africa, Australia and Italy, joined by throngs of locals and tourists. The walk always starts at the Barbican, with the pageant setting off with the first sounds of the hejnał at noon.
There are also plenty of attractions and surprises for the dogs and their humans: there is a competition for best-dressed pooches as well as advice and services from pet experts. The Dachshund Parade is also an opportunity to examine the root causes of animals cruelty. The event is organised by Radio Kraków with the KBF.
